Ecology & Sustainability at Taema

Sustainability is often depicted as composed of 3 main pillars: Social Equity, Economic Viability, and Environmental Protection.

At Taema Airpark we strive to keep the 3 pillars in mind, developing local strategies leveraging global technologies and best practices to ensure environmental sustainability.

Social Equity: is it making an equitable use of the natural resources?

Heavily invested in the local community, we are creating a village for the workers and employees of Taema, partner with charitable foundations to find win-win situations, and keep a fair use of the natural resources.

Taema also promotes the Mexican culture and will feature a local restaurant employing local employees and sourcing local produces .

Economic Viability : is it viable economically over time?

We work towards ensuring that our developments will not represent future costs to local communities or residents. For example leveraging solar panels to allow us to be independent from an energy standpoint, or using premium materials which will last longer.

With its own waste management system, Taema Airpark is able to control the processing and re-use of recyclable waste to lower consumption of disposable resources. Effectively creating local jobs, actively participating to waste reduction.

On top of efficiently managing waste, Taema Airpark will also be equipped with durable used-water management systems enabling a sustainable use of this precious resource, reusing as much water as possible without deteriorating the local ecosystem.

Environmental Protection: does it actively protect the environment?

Besides our 35,000-strong plant nursery, we also make extensive use of solar panels across Taema and apply the latest recycling technologies and process to limit our impact on the environment.

We thrive to find the right balance between fauna and flora when we find the new home for each tree or plant, and that could be in your garden at Taema.

Finally, in order to protect the local fauna and flora, we will ensure we keep two-third of the surface of Taema green, only building on one-third of the grounds.
